What started as a creative outlet (and, if we’re being honest, a bit of procrastination from real life) turned into a space full of whimsical, curated joy. Everything here is created with the hope of bringing a little more positivity into the world.

THE STORY BEHIND THE STUDIO
Canadian roots,
Belfast dreams
I’m proudly Canadian born and raised and have called Northern Ireland home for the past 22 years.
My day job is with a charity that helps provide funding to partner organisations in Madagascar so they can build schools and drill wells. I spend my time keeping track of project updates and making sure everything is running smoothly behind the scenes.

Outside of work, I’ve spent a lot of time getting my studio just the way I imagined it — cozy, creative, and ready to welcome people in. I even had help from a lovely friend along the way. I’ve already hosted more than eight workshops, and every one has reminded me how special it is to see people learning something new, enjoying the moment, and connecting with others in the space. Alongside the daydreaming, my hope is to run even more workshops in the near future, helping people build skills, tap into their creativity, and maybe even make a new friend or two along the way.

Before moving to Northern Ireland, I studied fashion and explored Child and Youth Work. After arriving here, I worked for a well-known retail company and then moved into banking, which gave me many of the practical skills that continue to support the work I do now. After leaving the bank, I went on to study costume construction. Since then, I’ve worked in various charities based in Belfast, each one helping me grow, learn, and shape the path I’m on now.

Named after two wonderful women who made a lasting impression on my life, this space is built on friendship, inspiration and the women who have shaped my journey.
Elsie and Ila are no longer here, but their kindness, strength and quiet influence have stayed with me.
This space is full of things I adore, including clothes, homeware and accessories, but each piece has a deeper meaning. Every item is named after a woman who has inspired me, supported me or simply led by example.
Elsie and Ila is my way of honouring the women who have shaped who I am.
I hope when you look around the webshop, you feel inspired and a part of the world of women who have lifted me up, taught me and made me who I am today.
